Windows 10 Features
A Truly Unified Store For Apps
With Windows 10 and beyond, Microsoft will allow consumers to source content for all devices running its software from one central point. No longer will there be a different store for Xbox, Windows Phone, and Windows, but looking ahead, apps, music, video, and other such effects will be plucked from the same portal.
Enterprise
Microsoft has long since sought to cater to business and enterprise markets with Windows, and as you’d expect, there’s big emphasis once again with Windows 10. With features including corporate data protection, and what the company refers to as modern management, business users will continue to thrive on what Microsoft is already dubbing as the best enterprise platform ever.
Start Menu
Hauled with very little remorse with the introduction of Windows 8, the removal of the long-standing Start menu left many users with a feeling of bemusement, but as promised, the traditional Start menu is back.
It mixes elements of old and new, animating like it did on Windows 7 but sporting remnants of that Metro / Modern interface, and not only does this seem like a happy medium, but Start menu tiles can also be resized.
Continuum Mode
If you boast a two-in-one PC then you’ll be presented with a brand new Start Screen. And under-the-hood, Windows 10 will detect which sort of hardware you are running and it will adjust the user-interface to fit your needs.
Enhanced Search
Continuing on the topic of the Start menu, the search has also been enhanced with Windows 10. Users will be able to key in their search queries directly from Start and can perform both local and Web searches using this particular facility.
Desktop Optimizations
Microsoft was panned by critics for going on head-first with its big Metro / Modern ideas for Windows 8 without considering that the vast majority of its user base used “ and still do use “ traditional rigs bereft of the touch-screen.
Windows 8.1 pandered to desktop users considerably with many of the changes that it brought, and with Windows 10, this trend continues. Windowed Metro / Modern apps should play nicer with the keyboard and mouse arrangement, and for the most part, PC and notebook users should feel a great deal more comfortable with Windows 10 than they did back in 2012 with Windows 8.
Multitasking
Multitasking continues to be an integral aspect as we seek to perform numerous tasks concurrently, and with Windows 10, Microsoft has added a couple of new features to make multitasking even simpler and more fluid.
The new Task View button, for example, which is located on the taskbar, throws up an Expos©-like view of all of your apps, and even though Windows 10 is still very much in development, productive users will certainly enjoy some of the tweaks that have been made here.
Enhanced Snap View
The all-new Snap Assist UI allows up to four apps to be snapped on the same screen, as per Microsoft official press release, and with a neat, smart suggestions feature that’ll indicate which open apps you should fill up empty desk space with, it’s a very intuitive all-around feature.
Multiple Desktops
Windows users have long since bombarded themselves with an overloaded desktop, with files and apps accumulating into one big hullabaloo. With Windows 10, users will be able to create multiple/virtual desktops, allowing productive, organized folk to arrange separate desktops for different tasks, while those messy folk can make a real mess over several plains rather than just the one.
Full Version Setup Download
The Full Version of Windows 10, which has been referenced ad nauseam over the last couple of months, will be available for users to test starting October 1st, 2014. The all-new Windows Insider Program will, a bit like Apple new OS X Beta Seed program, allow regular users to test drive unfinished software should they so wish, although as exciting as it sounds, interested parties should remember that the experience is likely to be buggier and more erratic than usual.

Pros: - so my first experience with Windows was the 3.1 version, and I used most of them since, this one ranks about 3rd after XP and Windows 7
- they constantly improve this product as it supposed to be the last Windows, and they do listen to the community feedback
- works well, very stable, rarely crashes
- great improvement over Windows 8
- trouble free install on a SAMSUNG 970 PRO NVMe
Cons: - it supposed to be the last Windows, so what choice do you have?
- lots of privacy concerns turn on by default, and other resource intensive processes that are not needed
- update process was better on previous versions of Windows, many times it gets stuck at a certain %, then you toggle the screen and you will see that the progress bar moves
- suffered from a fuzzy text, when laptop was connected to external display, which eventually got resolved through one of the feature pacts
Overall Review: I went for a retail since Microsoft is not releasing anymore PC based operating systems in the future, it is better to have a hard copy on hand then rely on OEM. Go back to Windows 7 update model allowing us to select updates we want to install, turn off telemetry and all those resource hogging useless processes, and privacy settings on off, then I will give it 5 eggs rating
Pros: Its windows
Cons: NO RETURNS
Overall Review: Well, I bought Win 10 HOME, turns out it does not have Hyper-V support which was not listed in the the list of s.hit-it-does-not-have. I turned right around and dropped 190 more bucks for the pro version 45 mins later. So now I have a $320 version of windows pro. Really lame there are no f.ooking returns on a stupid key that should be able to be de-activated on request.
1 star.
Pros: I' ll="" admit,="" i've="" never="" been="" terribly="" fond="" of="" windows="" for="" various="" reasons.="" i="" help="" onto="" an="" older="" version="" for="" quite="" some="" time,="" a="" main="" reason="" was="" a="" very="" poor="" experience="" when="" w10="" first="" came="">
Anyways, that was a while ago but in getting this, the install was rather smooth and painless, and has been since. No BSoD or anything that related to my negative past-time experiences.
Great job, Microsoft!
Cons: Nothing, nada, zip, zilch.
Overall Review: I am digging this so far, fairly stable on my PC.
Pros: simpler to use over previous years
Cons: none
Pros: I love windows, I' ve="" been="" building="" my="" own="" computers="" for="" the="" past="" 18="" years,="" since="" windows="" 98.="" i="" have="" seen="" the="" windows="" transformation="" and="" evolution,="" it="" is="" today="" a="" robust="" os="" with="" great="" features="" that="" many="" people="" give="" for="" granted="" with="" windows="" 10,="" but="" those="" of="" us="" who="" remember="" we="" had="" to="" install="" third="" party="" applications="" to="" do="" simple="" tasks="" with="" the="" early="" windows="" xp="" for="" example="">
Microsoft has gradually integrated a plethora of apps and functions which now are built in with windows, but it wasn't always like that. For those and many other reasons, i decided to buy my own genuine windows key, and i made sure to get the retail key, cause i'm constantly upgrading my hardware, and building new pcs. So, to avoid having to call Microsoft and explaining that i replaced my motherboard, i bought this key, and tied it up to my microsoft account.
Cons: No cons.
Pros: Retail Version Not OEM Received Product Key In Minutes Via EMail Digital Download . It Is Windows 10 Professional .
Cons: None
Overall Review: No Issues With Product Key . You Only Need To Use It Once As The Retail Version Is Digitally Activated Or Through Your MS Account . I Highly Recommend The Retail Version A Little Expensive But Worth It If You Tend To Swap Out Computers A Lot I Build A New Computer Every Six Months Lol
Pros: -Works as stated.
-The key code worked to activate Windows 10 Pro on a computer that I was assisting with a build.
-Get the ISO download or the USB installation download directly from Microsoft. I already had v1803 it on a Flash Drive.
Cons: -Price. It could be lower. Microsoft was giving away Windows 10 for free from July 2015 into 2016.
-No upgrade version pricing. Friend has a Windows 7 key but did not convert it during the free upgrade period so no free upgrade version. Also, no upgrade option. New OS purchase. So it goes.
Overall Review: -As stated this is a single Key Code for Windows 10 Professional retail edition.
-If you already have a Windows 10 ISO you can download RUFUS to make a bootable Flash drive if you do not have an optical drive as many modern PCs no longer have any removable media bays besides USB device connections.
Pros: It lets me run Visual Studio and remote in to my machine at work pretty easily. Hardware is better supported by Windows than LInux.
Cons: The UI on WIndows 10 is still a dog's breakfast of different UI concepts Microsoft. Things like Edge and Groove have the same shiny new design language, but if you dig just slightly deeper, you are greeted by things that look at home on Windows 7 like the RDP application. You see some applications with modern hamburger menus, some with ribbons, and some with traditional menu based UI's. Windows is a big mess right now and they need to put some effort into unifying the UI elements.
I'm also not crazy about all the hoops you have to jump through to prevent your machine from waking up on it's own in the middle of the night to run updates. I figured out how to prevent that, but it took a lot of Googling and a few days of waking up in the middle of the night being greeted by my monitors at full brightness. If I put my machine to sleep, I want it to stay asleep.
Windows 10 comes with a lot of junk software installed, like Candy Crush. I get they are trying to show you the neat things you can do with Windows. I think that's fine for the normal consumer version of Windows, but if you are buying a pro license, they should keep the installation leaner. The first thing I do after a clean install is uninstall Candy Crush, One Drive, and any other non-essential applications.
Overall Review: If I didn't need Windows for work and some development projects, I wouldn't bother with it. It's the path of least resistance. The UI has promise, but it's still a work in progress and they don't seem to be putting that effort on the fast track.
